I've not been a fan of everything he's done and said, but he understands that you don't go into a negotiation by manufacturing a position of weakness, and he clearly convinced Trump of this, restoring intelligence sharing and military aid to Ukraine including more advanced weapons systems. The constant whiplash of Trump's leadership has been mostly negative, but in this case suddenly turning the lights back on for the Ukrainians might have caught the Russians with their pants down on a few of the fronts.

Trump is obsessed with rare earth minerals, and I don't disagree with securing supplies for the US. I think it's the main driver behind his crazy talk of annexing Canada and Greenland. The nuance in Ukraine is that half the territory were these minerals are located is currently controlled by the Russians, so it would seem giving Putin everything he wants isn't good for Trump's plan. And I think he's finally getting his head around the fact that American mining operations hinge on a completely secured Ukraine.

Unfortunately, we're seeing that Putin currently has no desire for this conflict to end, especially for a couple weeks there when he thought he really had the upper hand. Russia is going to have to feel more pain before a peace agreeable to all parties can be achieved. Rubio gets this.

All of the Trump cult fluffers sitting around here who have said that Zelensky was keeping the war going are complete fools. The “realists” who blame the west are fools. Putin has sought to expand for years. He fabricates the arguments of threats. Putin wants to win.

Trump‘s foreign policy is pretty much the same as the social life of a 13-year-old jealous, bipolar tween girl. It’s fascinating that some of his biggest success was under Mike Pompeo, but now Mike Pompeo is persona non grata because Mike Pompeo actually puts the constitution ahead of Trump.

I guess Trump was too stupid to understand that if you don’t have absolute security for Ukraine, Russia isn’t gonna respect the deal you made for rare earth minerals.

Every day this administration looks dumber and dumber. Marco Rubio is the only intelligent person in the bunch. Which means the more he develops a spine, the sooner he will be gone, just like Pompeo.

The expansionist behavior is absolutely insulting. And the MAGA choades will find some way to support it. We fought a world war and the Cold War side-by-side with the Canadiens to oppose expansionist fascist tyranny.

You never fought shit in your life for this country. Talk about a fluffer.

Russian can never “win” this war as there will be constant uprising in Ukraine even if Putin somehow occupies the entire place. Putin is simply a power hungry war criminal with no respect for human life.

Putin needs to be put down if this goes on for the foreseeable future.

This is a good opportunity to remind the maga-folk of the alternate reality in which they live.
He got shot. He survived multiple assassination attempts.
This is the true part of you post, and nobody deserves it. But his gun policy, which he fights for rigorously, assures that assault rifles will find their way into the hands of crazy ass holes. Many Americans die because of this every year. Trump is fortunate not to be one of them.
he fought through bullshit impeachment hearings.
His first impeachment was because he solicited a foreign government to produce dirt on a political rival and threatened to withhold aid if its president didn't comply, same guy he's spreading lies about today because he's nothing if not a grudge holder.

His second impeachment was for inciting a violent attack on the US Capitol over an election he lied about losing legitimately. He watched gleefully for 3 1/2 hours as police were brutalized. When GOP congressmen begged him to call off the dogs, he ignored or taunted them. Instead, he opted to call out Mike Pence as his mob raged, further endangering him. In the end, a few lives were lost, over 100 police officers were injured (some gravely), and there was 6-digit property damage.

Laws were broken in both instances. Impeachment was valid whether you agree with the decision or not.

The GOP impeached a guy for lying about a blowjob.
He was spied on by the US gov't.
There is no evidence of this. The closest fact you could cite is that the CIA was tracing Russian phone numbers and found that calls were made to a Trump property.

However, Trump instructed William Barr to tap the phone lines of democrat congress members, and it likely happened.
He must be stealing a ton of $$$ somehow to go through all of this at his age. Is he taking a salary this time?
His salary is a joke of a token gesture. He's made a mockery of the Emoluments Clause and profited off the presidency easily more than anyone in history. It was bad in his first term, and the wheels are completely off this term. He made millions on his inauguration party alone, and with his bit coin scam, any party can move huge amounts of money to him under the table. His firings of the Inspectors General, several of whom he appointed, show he intends to rev up his efforts too.
He fought through lawfare
The legal system is weaponized against criminals. It's pretty easy to avoid its wrath.

Beyond the aforementioned Jan. 6 crimes, the other big federal case didn't even involve the fact Trump illegally took classified documents, though ironically Trump himself signed the law that made this action a felony. The crime he was being tried for was that when served with a subpoena concerning the retrieval of these documents, he had his personal assistant and another employee move around a hundred boxes offsite and then had them brought back after agents had completed their actions. This was all on video which Trump tried to destroy. It's about as clean cut of obstruction of justice crime as you can get.

Both these cases were strong, and without shenanigans in the judiciary and eventually his election win, he would have lost.

The case in Georgia was led by an idiot who disserves to be disbarred if not charged with a crime, but Trump subordinates stole election equipment and hacked into. They also lied about innocent election workers who were terrorized. Regardless of the unscrupulous prosecutor, the case was strong enough that three people plead guilty before it was halted.

The case where he was convicted was lamer than the other three, but the only one simple enough to get through prior to the election. He committed fraud to cover up hush money payments, and since the intent of the fraud was to disrupt the flow of information affecting an election, it was a felony. Some of you may be OK with all of that. The legal system was not.

And there's plenty of evidence in the NY fraud case. Here's a bit from the summary judgement:

"In defendants' world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party's lies..." Engoron wrote, citing multiple arguments made by defense to justify the allegedly inflated valuations of Trump's assets. "That is a fantasy world, not the real world."

Such is maga's world.

Marco probably isn't in the job long, look for MTG to be the next Secretary of State.

So he is a great guy because he is a life-long scammer and cheat, was impeached for his abuses in office twice and because a patriotic American decided to exercise his God-given 2A rights?

The only thing you got right there is that there is something in this for him.
