Hearing from multiple places it looks unlikely Smithpeters is leaving for Carbondale. His name was floated quite a bit as an early favorite for the job, but have had multiple people tell me in the last couple days it doesn't seem like it will happen. Don't think Smithpeters wants the job that much and think SIU is focused on someone else based on what I'm told.
