When Jack Lange walked into the locker room Saturday, he saw his headshot above his locker.

Having taken the picture in January, when he traveled to Columbia to help the early enrollees move into their apartments, the Class of 2025 offensive tackle got a jolt of excitement for what's to come at Missouri.

"Seeing my locker there is just like, 'Oh my God,'" Lange said. "I just want to put the helmet on and start practicing."

After likely his final visit before enrolling this summer, Lange called fellow offensive lineman signee Keiton Jones, who will also enroll late, and talked about how much he's ready to get started.

Lange doesn't regret not enrolling early, wanting to finish out his final months at Eureka (Mo.) High and throw shot put for the track and field team, but he still misses playing football, having the itch to put the pads back on.

"Every minute," Lange chuckled how often he wants to be out at practice. "I just want to get back in there, just start hitting people again."

Attending his second practice in two weeks, Lange spoke to offensive guard Henry Fenuku and other offensive freshmen about the Tigers' playbook, mentally preparing himself for what to expect this summer and being attentive to the coaches during drills.

"Since my schedule is also limited just because of school and stuff that I'm still doing," Lange said, "I am going to try to just start getting in some meetings on Zoom and just start trying to learn as much as I can."

Lange also wanted to step out of his comfort zone and grow bonds with upperclassmen at the offensive line, defensive line and tight end positions.

"That's the biggest thing before I get up there," Lange said, "because I don't want to get up there and not really know anybody, just cling to the guys I signed with."

Fellow Class of 2025 signee Jason Dowell, a four-star defensive tackle, was also on campus Saturday, watching the defensive line practice. Dowell and Lange also took their physicals, checking off more onboarding tasks for the Tigers.

Lange's next planned trip to Columbia is for move-in day, but even with shot put at the forefront of his schedule, he thinks he'll be back for a workout in April. While admittedly aiming for second in shot put at state behind Class of 2026 offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, Lange also has other goals in mind.

"I think second's achievable for me, and if not second, I just want to at least place," Lange said. "Because that hasn't happened in my school for a long time. So if I don't place, I want to at least break the school record, which I know I can do."
