Some of our current starters are simply not as talented as most of these recruits. For example, Connor Tollison, Dominic Lovett, Travion Ford, Daylan Carnell, Dameon Wilson, Ryan Hoerstkamp, and Kyran Montgomery are at serious positions of need, and they have the talent to expect to start/significantly contribute immediately, even in the SEC.
Drink inherited a COVID-diminished roster full of a bunch of two- and low 3-stars with few-to-no Power-5 offers and little-to-no legitimate NFL potential, but he got them to go no worse than .500. Just imagine what he can do with a full roster of his guys.
That’s before you consider that the timing of many of the commitments would indicate that most of these guys were his Plan A/B recruits.
Who knows? Maybe the 2020s are the best decade of Tiger football.
