As much as I liked Cuonzo he was limited as a coach. He seemed to mostly rely on effort and that’s perhaps why he focused on defense. You can sometimes win the defensive battle on effort alone. He didn’t seem to have any type of offensive identity other than run the Kim Anderson weave and drive or shoot a 3.
Golden, on the other hand, seems like one of the smartest guys in the room. He also coached under Pearl so he knows how to “recruit”. And he’s young, the sky is the limit.
