With all the discussion about Jontay, I thought those interested might find these articles informative. ACL injuries are on the rise, and the short term prognosis is generally good for young athletes. I love competitive sports, but with the increase in concussions and ACL tears, it might be time for parents to re-evaluate their kids potential before keeping them involved all year, for many years, in the same sport. One of the key points in the first article is in regards to allowing young athletes bodies to rest, recharge, and develop. Short term prognosis is good, but those of us that have personally experienced these injuries, know long term you have arthritis and joint replacement to look forward to. I wish nothing but the best for Jontay, and the many other young athletes that suffer these devastating injuries.
