USA Today has put out more information about the investigation into LSU's athletic department... and it sounds like they are a compliance nightmare. They are more interested in protecting the Brand and winning than protecting their own people. Now, that said, the protagonist, Lewis, has some share in the blame for what has happened and she did not do what she should have to protect those under her. But top to bottom that place is a mess.... so, the question becomes, as more of this gets out, can the NCAA add this to the allegations and go for the royal enchilada of lack of institutional control? It would seem if anyone is eligible for the death penalty it would be LSU right now... I know that don't really hand that out anymore, but they could do some real damage to the institution as well as the people involved.
It's a long and messy read... and I hope we never have to go through something like this at Mizzou.
