Listening to the show at Bud's BBQ. The host asks Mabor for a story about Dennis Gates frok back when they were at Cleveland State.
Mabor said one time, in one of his first games with the Vikings, he drew a foul and got sent to the line. He said he was pretty nervous about taking the free throws.
All of a sudden he hears Gates shouting "Tie your shoes, tie your shoes!" Mabor looked down - his shoes were already tied. So he bends over *unties* them and re-ties them. He said having that little bit of a break helped him calm down and he hit his shots. Gates told him that was the point.
