This is an interview with the dude that had the late hit that basically allowed the Chiefs to win
I post it for a few reasons:
First the guy played great. He made a terrible play at a terrible time and he will probably remember it forever
Second kudos to him for answering questions
Third kudos to his teammates for supporting him
Finally, this is where college coaches and athletic departments are failing kids. If that play happens in college not only do we not talk to the kid that day, we probably never do. They all have a goal of playing in the NFL. This is part of it in the NFL. The media is treating the guy respectfully. Nobody is trying to crap on him or villainize him or make him feel worse than he already does. His role is a big part of the story and they asked him about it. I would bet most people will appreciate him for facing the music and treat him pretty well. That would happen even more so with college kids, media and fans. But coaches and administrations are too focused on shutting everyone out and convincing kids the media is all out to get them as enemies of the program to allow for on the job training and personal growth.
