Good start for the Tigers, who are T-6 after 18 holes. Mississippi State leads at 12 under, and Florida State is 7 under, but it’s pretty bunched after that: Pepperdine at 4 under, a couple of schools at 3 under, and Mizzou is another 2 back, tied with two others. Third through ninth place is separated by 4 shots. Top five schools after 54 holes advance to the national tournament.

At one point midway through the back nine, the Tigers were in 3rd place.

Mizzou freshman Alfons Bondesson leads the individual competition after a 5-under 67. Charlie Crockett is T-9 (70). Jack Lundin had it going for a bit but bogeyed four of his last five holes.

A lot of golf left, but Mizzou is off to a solid start. Lundin needs to get back on track, and another Tiger needs to step up. For the team scores, everyone starts fresh each day. They count the top 4 scores.
