Staying committed to Miami (FL) through staff changes, Jordan Campbell still tested the waters this spring.

The Class of 2026 four-star linebacker made two unofficial trips in March, one to see the Hurricanes and one to see Auburn. He also kept his ears open to Missouri, the new home of former Miami (FL) linebackers coach Derek Nicholson.

"Matter of fact, the whole entire staff (contacted me)," Campbell said Sunday at the Rivals Camp Series in Miami. "One day, I got on the phone with the head coach (Eli Drinkwitz), the running backs coach (Curtis Luper), Coach D Nic, all of those guys. They've been showing me love. They got me in a group chat with all their coaches, messaging me and showing me love every day."

Being an SEC program, Missouri made its strongest impression to Campbell on what it provided recent defensive graduates with opportunities in the NFL. Campbell's already established relationship with Nicholson also made the recruiting process more seamless.

"Coach Nicholson is very high energy," the No. 73 recruit in the 2025 class said. "He loves football, he loves coaching linebackers and he just loves making linebackers better. So I believe everything that he preaches, because it showed with his linebackers at University of Miami. He has (Francisco Mauigoa) right now in the NFL Draft, doing good, so he has stuff to show for when he whenever he tells me something."

Campbell will try to visit Missouri in April. He hasn't scheduled any other visits, but his official visit to Miami (FL) for June 20-22 will be moved up to an earlier date.

"I don't have no problem leaving home," Campbell said. "Obviously, I'm committed to the University of Miami right now, but I factor in because of the staff out there and everything. But as long as the environment is good for me, then I'm OK wherever I go."
