Thank you for possessing the integrity we should look for in our politicians. Have to believe McCain would be standing right beside him if he were alive to see today.
Trump is doing a phenomenal job of energizing his base. But that base is representing a smaller and smaller portion of the American population each year. And he’s doing nothing but alienating the rest from the GOP.
The Republican Party needs to try and emulate these men, and those like them (Jon Huntsman, Will Hurd, Justin Amash) if they want to last beyond the decade.
This isn’t meant to be partisan commentary, but genuine concern, as moderate Republican stances best benefit and represent my interests. And I would (and have) voted for each of them. But to ignore the fact that the GOP is destroying its long term health in favor of short term control is foolish at best.
