Looked on Amazon and was not impressed. Went to Dick's and the selection was terrible. With good intentions to do it I just failed to look through what's at Walmart. Asked around a tad and ended up going to Rally House on Broadway (it's near Sycamore).
I had been to the bookstore to get some last minute eclipse glasses and noticed they had a lot of nice stuff in there but thought it was unreasonably expensive. Speaking of unreasonably expensive, so was Rally House. Plus, there are no coupons, etc. because I kept asking. Clearance stuff wasn't bad on this day but by the time my wife and I got out of there it was $415 and that's after they relented 25% from a shirt I decided to get that's otherwise $90, lol. WTF is this world coming to? If you sign up at the register you get 25% off one item on your birthday and you get 25% in another way but I'm too old to remember now exactly what that was. Point is you don't walk in there first time and get any discounts. I finally got an exception for one item, I figure because I'm funny, we were buying a ton of other shit, and generally speaking I was just upbeat and the staff there and we had a fun time of it.
Tomorrow we're going back to the bookstore. On the Friday before a home game the bookstore offers 25% off your whole bill, plus whatever profit there is goes to the school. I held off making further purchases today to think about what else to get and hit sale day tomorrow.
Beyond that, I do have a 30% off coupon for one item at the Mizzou store that's by the scoreboard at Faurot. I suppose that's for another time at this point.
At the end of this I gotta say Rally House and the Mizzou stores carry similar and different inventories. There are merits to buying Rally House items despite the deeper discount at the bookstore. To our tastes and preferences we appreciate each place for what the other doesn't stock. The reason for starting this subject is because I'm sure there's a lot more to know than what I've recently learned and I'm probably not the last person wanting to know.
