Carsen Eloms has experienced wavering interest from coaches.
He's been led on by programs. He's received attention with no one on a staff taking that next step in recruiting him, so it's made him cautious in the process. But when Missouri reached out, Eloms knew something was different.
Defensive analyst Christopher Ball visited the Class of 2026 cornerback at Fishers (In.) High this past week. The two reviewed his film, and the next day, Ball invited Eloms to Columbia for a Junior Day the coming Saturday.
Immediately when he stepped on campus, Eloms was blown away. Only a prior visit to Notre Dame, a program that really didn't recruit him, compared to what he saw at Missouri from facilities to opportunities for the players.
While his first time in Columbia, Eloms wasn't expecting much beyond an unofficial visit. He just started regular contact with the program, one that tried to get him down for a visit this past August.
"I went to the visit with the expectation of me not getting offered because they had just started recruiting me," Eloms said.
