Larissa Anderson is entering her second year as head coach of the Mizzou softball team ... so that means it is time for her second appearance at the Tiger Club of Kansas City, which took place on Tuesday, January 28 at the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill.
Coach Anderson’s first Mizzou squad finished the 2019 season with a 35-25 overall record and a .500 finish in the tough Southeastern Conference. In the College World Series Los Angeles Regional, the Tigers took the eventual National Champion UCLA Bruins to a deciding game in the best of 3 championship series. The outstanding season earned Anderson the 2018-19 Mizzou Coach of the Year designation from the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
Anderson is 165-98-1 in five years as a head coach, including four at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. Her Hofstra teams won two Colonial Athletic Association Conference Championships and advanced to two NCAA Regionals. Her 2020 Mizzou squad is ranked as high as No. 24 in preseason polls. First pitch for the season is Feb. 7-9 at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla. The home schedule starts with the Mizzou Tournament Feb. 29-March 1 vs Wichita State and Nebraska.

- We meet each Tuesday during the school year at Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill, 817 Westport Rd. in Kansas City, MO. Lunch buffet begins at 11:30 am with the program beginning at Noon.
- Our Tuesday, February 4 guest will be Ben Arnet, an anchor, reporter and host for the Mizzou Network and play-by-play announcer for the SEC Network Plus.
