Less than a day after Baylor Univ. hired a Philadelphia law firm to perform an internal investigation of its athletic department, Art Briles announced Shawn Oakman their AA DE and All Big 12 Safety O Stewart had been suspended for violations of team rules and would not play against SMU. No word if their suspensions would apply to future games, or what the violations involved.
Oakman who has a troubled past, was dismissed from Penn St in 2012, following his arrest for harassment and retail theft (although there are versions vary on what happened). He has had brushes & dust ups with authorities in the past.
Bad dude or not, he is a big, edge rusher who will play on Sundays, and the safety Stewart is a heck of a player. Their loss likely won't matter against SMU but would in the unlikely event it is extended.
