Guys, all this talk about could he, would he, should he is way too early.
Trust in Pinkel. He will not have an average QB on the field if he has an All SEC QB on the sidelines.
Let me harken you back to a simpler time.. I had just arrived at my condo in Naples, Florida, it was early September, the MU - Illinois game was played while I was in the air. Quick like a bunny I turned on the television hoping to get at least a score. I got a lot more. It seems Gary Pinkel - the idiot he is - had not started the returning letterman QB. INstead he started some skinny kid with NO game experience. And won. BRadley Smith remained in the game until his eligibility expired and he went on to riches in the NFL.

If Mr. Lock is THE superior QB on this team he will be the starting QB on this team. If he is better than the non-starters he will be the backup and get playing time.

Coach PInkel is not going to NOT play a better player due to age or incumbency of another(older) player. I am not suggesting Drew Lock is the next All-American QB nor am I suggesting he can't be. I am staying that if he is he will be leaving as soon as he is eligible and that clock is ticking. You simply don't keep talented QBs on the shelf until such time as you absolutely need him; he will be gone.

I can't imagine putting a true freshman in the game against a very good SEC defense, the DC would have a field day tricking the kid, and you can't practice that stuff, you live through it - after you lose your baby fat and put on some Mizzou Made Muscle.

Trust in Pinkel.
