The Good:
- The offensive line played well most of the night and we ran and threw the ball at will after the first quarter.
- Our WR's dropped a few, but overall they made a lot of plays tonight.
- Ish was great and Crockett had a few nice runs, minus the fumble. Not sure what Crockett needs to do to get more snaps? I thought he was our clear cut top running back, but I guess they like Ish better!
- Overall we played better!
- Our TE's blocked well, but did any of them have a catch?
- The fact I only remember punting once or twice is definitely a good thing!
The Bad:
- Our TE's were supposed to be a big part of our passing offense, but I sure haven't seen it yet and tonight was no different.
- The defensive line jumped off sides at least 5 times. Very undisciplined tonight! As a group this is probably my most disappointing position group this season. How many sacks did we have tonight? Maybe 1? Very little pressure most of the night as well!
- Our LB's and DB's are not real talented and overall lack the speed needed for the SEC. Our DL does not help them because they rarely put pressure on the QB!
- Overall this probably the poorest defense we have had in a long time!
- I hate to dog on our defense, but our tackling leaves a lot to be desired!
- The kicking game continues to struggle and I don't just mean the kicker. We had some bad snaps and the blocking on the right side of our line was not good. We are lucky we didn't have more kicks blocked. Don't forget their kicker hit a 52 yard field goal and that was huge.
- Our clock management is still not good. I am assuming our coaches are being indecisive on when to call timeouts or is the officials not getting the clock stopped fast enough? Either way it must get better!
- We had a few drives that stalled in the redzone and that killed us, especially when our kicker is not great.
- The officials were not good most of the game and as bad as our clock management was at the end of the game, the officials were equally bad. They really screwed us with their lack of hustle and not noticing that a Kentucky player batted the ball out of Moore's hand.
I'm not sure they knew what holding is? They missed a huge hold on the fake punt that would have brought that first down back and then they would have punted the ball.
- Lock's inconsistency and lack of game management killed us. He missed about 7-8 passes tonight where the WR's were wide open. Yes he made a few great passes, but he does not play smart and it is on him some to help manage the clock. An incomplete pass is often better than a 3 yard pass late in a game and he did that 3 times in the last drive.
- Penalties: This team kills itself by committing so many of them.
- The fumble by Crockett on the play after our interception was huge!
