I've been afk most of the day, I was working. But I've got my adult beverage and some free time before bedtime.
So I'll start with - and I was roasted for a post yesterday having doubts about BO. Did he leave any reason today not to have doubts?
Drew Lock to me is a lot like Gabbert, although I think Gabbert is/was better. But like Gabbert, I just fully couldn't embrace him. I liked him enough but I didn't really freaking love him, in a #nohomo kinda way. Maybe Gabbert didn't get a fair shake because he came immediately after CD. I loved CD, Tank Frank and Mauk before he became addicted to dope. Gabbert and Lock just kinda fall into the meh category. Glad they came here, could have done way worse but oh well...
Lock almost had no chance to live up to his billing. He was the Messiah since the 10th grade. We were on his dick for three years before coming to Mizzou. Took him until about half way through last season to get "it". He's really good at beating shitty teams and that is a lot better than losing to shitty teams. Average to slightly above average teams, he just wilts like a rose petal in the hot sun.
You could tell from the get-go that Mizzou was better than SoCo, we just were and we duked it out with them the whole game and lost it in the end. Should have beat them by 10 points.
BO isn't going to get fired. Not at Mizzou for winning 6, 7 or 8 games. He will go nowhere. We're a good enough program to be in that 7-9 win range most of the time. Who the hell would Mizzou bring in? Maybe a dude kicking ass in 1AA and thinks making 1.5 million a shitload of cash? Any up and comer in the P5 level probably has their sights set higher. BO is it for now and in the future. Mizzou won't totally suck but we won't be that good either. So just adjust your jockstrap cause most of the StL ballers are gonna choose to B1G time Mizzou.
