Looks like the NCAA may've backed themselves into an interesting spot in this UNC lawsuit. Seems the NCAA's position in this lawsuit is that they have no responsibility for education....which is pretty rich considering their position in the O'Bannon case was that they're student-athletes not employees. Of course they lost that one.
So, athletes can't get paid because the NCAA classifies them as students and not an employees, but then says they have no responsibility for the quality of the education which is the compensation they deal in? This is going to get interesting. Nothing new but even the casual observer is going to begin to realize the overt hypocrisy that is the NCAA. I'm curious how much longer this guise of amateurism can hang on.
