for a new coach to come into a team with what has clearly been said to have a bad locker room and poor leadership (per Gabe in multiple prior threads) and to then have a losing record the first year, then a winning record with a bowl game, then go 8-4 with a chance at 9-4 is just about as good as you can hope for with a new hire.
It hasn’t all been perfect, but that is the absolute by the book plan and hope for a new coaching hire.
Lose the first year, lose close the second year, win close the 3rd year, win big the fourth year. Some of you are held up on the possibility that we could have won big this year (although 2-2 in close games is pretty fair and should be given credit but not too much credit)....I think that means we are ahead of schedule, Odom has righted the ship. Pay the man and let’s see where this thing goes
