As anticipated, Missouri pulled the trigger on an offer to Kris Grimaldo.
Tigers running backs coach Curtis Luper, who inquired about the Class of 2028 athlete in January, called C4 SportsPerformance coach Sean Cooper on Wednesday with the news.
"They finally evaluated his film and loved his film and closing speed," Cooper said, "and at 9 p.m. when I was on phone with Lupe, Kris was just finishing training on a school night. I love that."
Luper has overseen recruiting Texoma, the region surrounding the Texas-Oklahoma border, for Missouri. He offered Class of 2027 defensive end Kyng Golston this past week, with the help of defensive line coach Al Davis, and kept tabs on three-star athlete and running back target Kenny Golston, who he offered in October.
Cooper plans to take Grimaldo to Missouri for a visit later this month. Grimaldo, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound freshman at Madill (Okla.) High, has also received offers from Arkansas, Baylor and UTSA.
