Jamarcus Whyce admired the straight forwardness of the Tigers coaches during his June visit.
The Class of 2026 defensive tackle put Missouri in his Top 12 on March 17 along with Auburn, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
"I think that the coaches love the way that I play with force and strike at the line," the three-star said, "and how I can be able to play any position on the defensive line."
Whyce visited with Trotwood (Ohio) Trotwood-Madison teammate Darius Dennis, a Class of 2027 three-star athlete. Missouri hopes to host Whyce again in the coming months.
Oklahoma hosted Noah Best once again this past Saturday, and according to OUInsider co-publisher Parker Thune, the Sooners felt even more comfortable about landing the Class of 2026 four-star, one with four FutureCasts set to Oklahoma.
Best will officially visit Missouri the final weekend of May, but likely the biggest adversary to Oklahoma for the Midlothian (Tex.) High interior offensive lineman will be in-state Southern Methodist.
After his most recent trip to Missouri, Tigers pledge Anthony Kennedy Jr. mentioned Tennessee as a school on his list of officially visit. He got to Knoxville this past weekend with his younger brother, Class of 2028 quarterback Bryson Kennedy. Along with Missouri, Anthony scheduled official visits to Georgia, LSU and Arkansas.
When running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider departed for Notre Dame, Missouri and other programs pushed harder for Penn State commit Messiah Mickens. But after a Saturday visit to Happy Valley, the four-star shut down his recruitment. Mickens, a Pennsylvania product, did not answer a prior message on his Missouri interest to Rivals.com.
Previously planning to visit Missouri for the first time March 20, Nalin Scott ended up not making the trip. Tigers wide receivers coach Jacob Peeler recruited Scott's wide receiver coach, T.J. Rahming, while a graduate assistant at California. Years later, that connection helped Peeler recruit Scott, a four-star in the 2026 class.
Seeing Missouri as a possible official visit location after receiving his offer, Tony Williams has kept in contact with linebacker coach Derek Nicholson, who recruited the four-star at Miami (FL). Williams still hopes to visit Columbia soon, although not having any trips in the works.
Assistant wide receivers coach Keyan Williams offered his first recruit in Class of 2027 safety Ta'Shawn Poole on March 21. Williams' relationship with Macon (Ga.) Howard coach Trey Porter sparked the interest between the two, and Poole recognized an unmatched passion from Williams.
"I know they want to see me at DB, free safety, because that's what I play," Poole said. "But I can also show my skills at wide receiver, and I know Coach Key would love to see it."
