He looked awful today, too many errors and penalties and don't get me started on the kickoff. Also there have been times in games where he makes mistakes and his staff doesn't adjust. All of that's on him.
But its a knee jerk reaction to say fire him after todays game. His team is still young, especially in the secondary, DE, and today even WR.(we had two Freshman and a walkon in on the last drive) He can't bench anyone because he has no depth except at DT and RB. I know his talent is supposed to be at Defense but when you have no experience lapses happen, look at Bama today and Saban is the secondary coach.
He has to fix the defense for this season and run the ball more until he gets help back at WR. But next year all of his recruits will be a year older and with good QB, a great running game, and with a good recruiting class depth will be better.
We set this year to be the year to compete but with what Pinkel did recruiting wise it was never going to be. You have Drew Lock, Beckner, Hall, Blanton, Hilton, Lee, Hall, Brown Adams and thats it still contributing and some of those are injured. There's a lot of that can't make the 2 deep with Ooms guys. I don't think that enough.
I believe Odom will get this team to where it needs to go. I think we get to 8 wins, have a great(for Mizzou) recruiting class. And I think we have a chance to compete next year and the year after with good QB play. Now beat on me for being a sunshine pumper.
