After Marcus Johnson is inevitably offered up as this season’s sacrificial lamb for his backwards development of our OL, Drink has the perfect opportunity to upgrade the coaching staff as a whole and bring in an Offensive Coordinator/OL coach. Assuming we would bring him in making C.Y. Young money, here’s an initial hot list:
1. Cody Kennedy - Sam Pittman’s golden child at Arkansas, and former Co-OC at Southern Miss. Current Salary $700k
2. Eric Wolford - Responsible for the OL transformation at Kentucky. Currently going through Nick Saban’s finishing school. Current salary $800k.
3. Jim Harding - OL/OC at Utah. Buy him. Current salary $600k.
4. Brandon Jones - Runs a dynamic and successful offense at Houston, similar to what Drink wants to be. Buy him 2.0. Current salary $500k.
5. Brad Davis - Holdover from Orgeron’s staff at LSU and a real miss not to have been retained by Eli. Current salary $830k
