Just spoke to Cam’Ron Johnson who told media he’s been ”moved to right guard.” Obviously, he was All-AAC at left guard at Houston last year.
He specifically said, “right now they’ve got me at right guard so I’m playing next to him (Connor Tollison).”
I mentioned in takeaways earlier that I saw this first team OL in a drill.
Javon Foster, LG Xavier Delgado, C Connor Tolison, RG Cam'Ron Johnson, RT Armand Membou
Curious as to what this means for LG. Does Delgado got it on lock? Because I didn’t see EJ Ndoma-Ogar get those reps or anything (doesn’t mean he hasn’t…remember I see 45 mins of a 2+ hour practice).
Does Marcellus Johnson, who I saw working as second string right guard today become a depth piece?
Again, players, coaches and people in between have said nothing but positive things to me about Marcellus since camp started. So I don’t know.
Again, they could be testing things out and making players play all over the line for versatility, depth and you know — the whole “5 best players will play” thing.
We don’t get Drink until Saturday by the way.
