I'm a old mizzou lineman of the early 70's that's been on this forum mostly as a listener for some time.Today i need to say a few words. This team no doubt has it's problems but the main one is very simple.no talent, PERIOD.On offense, yes we have a 3000yd passer,a 1000yd receiver and a 1000 yd rusher but against who are the majority of those yds. against not the middle half or better of the sec.Our receivers can't beat anybody so we get lots of press man coverage with little hope of getting open, if they do it's a crap shoot if they'll catch the ball or not. The o line play last year seemed to be better, this year they seem to be fatter and slower much like Ark. the last couple of years. They need to be in better shape so they can be quicker off the ball and more athletic. The backs aren't bad.I think Crocket's still a little banged up.Roundtree's young but i think he's a keeper. Ish plays because he;s the best pass blocker, until the others get better ,he plays. Our te i think are very good we just don't know. On defense, zero d ends. They can't set the edge and they can't get uphill to pressure the qb.Inside TB is a shell of him self since the two acls, there's some youngsters coming,lb's, slow and not very athletic.Dbs and safeties couldn't cover me and i'm 6'6, 300lb and 66 years old. They line up 5 to 8 yds of the ball and first movement is back and they still get blown by.So i agree that yes the coach have made several mistakes but make no mistake about it, our talent level not much better then sms and not near as good as purdue or sc.
I think BO has the passion and smarts to get it done, don't know if he'll get the chance. there's my take, fire away.
