That being said, Omicron is blowing up. And, I don't think there is anything we can do to stop it.
Royal Caribbean just had an Omicron outbreak on one of their ships, 48 cases. Of those 48, 47 were asymptomatic. The one case that had symptoms was similar to a simple cold.
So far, Omicron has been mild. However, it's 4x more contagious than Delta, as it does not sit is lungs, rather the throat.
I fully expect cases to explode over the next 30 days. With the holidays and Covid fatigue fully set in, it's a perfect storm for transmitting the virus.
Will some places try to stop this with lockdowns? Other countries are doing it now. That's the basic point/topic of my post. I guarantee you some places will try. I don't think there is any "lowering" of the curve this time, as most people won't know they have it.
