Some schools opted for higher hurdles for their athletes to receive the money. At Missouri, athletes will receive $2,400 for reaching academic eligibility but need a GPA of 3.5 or higher to receive the full bonus.
NCAA schools falling short on cash-for-grades pay
With colleges allowed to pay each of their athletes up to $5,980 per year as a reward for academic performance, only 22 of 130 FBS-level schools have plans in place to do so, according to information gathered by ESPN.
