The longer this dragged on, the more I began to think that maybe the interim AD could be the right choice but I didn’t know anything about her. Then Gabe posted yesterday that Marcy Girton was likely the leader in the clubhouse, so I did a little more backgrounding on her. She has excellent credentials at the P5 level including stints as COO at Auburn and South Carolina and football administrator at Auburn and Texas A&M. The only thing missing is she has never been an AD anywhere. And I don’t know what her fund raising abilities are. In any event, I for one would be OK with taking the interim tag off her title and calling it a good hire. JMO.
