Anybody know anything about this bad boy, the Roccbox pizza oven?
They claim you can cook a Neapolitan Pizza in 60-90 seconds, as it can get up to 932 degrees F. Works on propane, or there's a also a wood-fired burner (though I have read this feature has some issues). I've got a co-worker who recently purchased one, and he raves about it. Downside is the price. Williams-Sonoma sells them for like $600 ($700 w/ the wood burner attachment, I believe). Pretty sure it's an English company, and they don't have much distribution in the US.
Then there's the Ooni Koda:
I haven't read as much about this one and don't know anyone who has one, but it is easier on the wallet ($329 at Williams Sonoma, I believe).
I'm much more a BBQ Pitmaster kinda guy (3 smokers), but I seem to have lots of extra time on my hands at home these days, and searing a steak at extremely high heat is another intriguing possibility these offer. Interested if anyone here has experience with either one?
If I'm gonna take the plunge, I've gotta be all-in. Don't want to use it a handful of times and then bury it. Gotta be committed.
