Going into this year, I had three trains of thought.
1. A really good year and we would have finished with likely 9 wins. My assumption is some programs would go after drinkowitz and not 100% certain he has built (or ever will) enough of a foundation to stay.
2. Really bad year and all of the recruiting and positive energy he built up in the last year is pretty much gone
3. Just good enough for the trains not to go off the tracks and we finish with 6-7 wins. Worst case 5 wins. jury is still out on drink.
Obviously we fell into category 3 which honestly we weren’t competing for any conference championships this year regardless if we fell into category 1.
My opinion the top end of this program is to make a run every 3-4 years for the SEC East (or whatever it will Be)and see what happens after that.
I’ll give drink credit for expanding the recruiting map, I’m still up in the air if he’s just a really good salesman and not a good coach.
Next year’s schedule is rough to start the year and if they start struggling and not getting some of these stl kids the ball, it’s not going to be good.
However, if they start strong, Burden, Cooper, Lovett, etc are showcasing his offense and the defense is functional, He’s going to have a ton of momentum especially potential of getting a highly ranked offensive recruiting line.
long way to go but next year will probably be a very intriguing tigers football teams.
