This is happening to my friends and I’m no legal Eagle so I’m just wondering because as an outsider it’s hilarious to me.

A couple weeks ago some friends of mine were having people over. One of our friends was sitting on the railing of the back deck (about 8 ft. off the ground) when the railing broke and he fell. He’s completely fine. No injuries. He hasn’t missed any work because he hasn’t had any work to do the last two weeks.

He is now trying to sue the landlord of our friends that were having people over. Our friends have already fixed the deck. In their lease it clearly states they are responsible for whatever happens on the property. They have told the guy that is suing this info and he is saying don’t worry he’s only going after the landlord it’s not their responsibility so he’s hiring a lawyer and moving forward.

My question:
The buddy that is suing is a complete fvcking moron and 1. Can’t sue the landlord and 2. Clearly will not get anything out of it as he has no medical bills and had not missed any work, correct?

I think this is all hilarious as we’ve all been friends for 10+ years. None of us actually know what we’re talking about here so i was just wondering what an actual lawyer thought about all of this.

I think @dreamlaw is a lawyer if I’m not mistaken.

@lawgeek
@Lawdog83
@LawZou

assuming you guys are lawyers as well.

As always the thoughts and opinions of non-lawyers are highly encouraged as well as this is a hilarious situation IMO.
