Was at the lake of the ozarks all weekend for a golf trip. We stayed at an air bnb at Tantara. Big golf trip we do every year with 16 guys.
At about 3am Saturday morning we’re all sitting on the back balcony. We’re obviously being loud but nothing crazy. All of a sudden we hear pounding on the front door and cops yelling “sheriffs office open up”. Someone went and opened the door and it was two cops in full uniform with their rifles drawn. They make the guy who opened the door come outside and lay on his stomach like he’s under arrest.
They then proceeded to just walk in the house and start going through rooms telling everybody they need to go outside claiming “somebody was shot and were looking for him”. They said they had a report he ran into a party and we were the only party happening. Again, it wasn’t a party just high school friends getting together and hanging out. Nothing crazy. Once outside they ask us a few questions and then leave.
Only two cops and they were dressed in complete uniform. They did not have a warrant and we did not let them inside.
I guess my question is, was this legal?
