1. Missouri has to win this game from the standpoint that Ohio State doesn't have a QB.
Devin Brown is compromised and even when his ankle isn't compromised he's still getting run over. So, Missouri better get its offense going because OSU is a wounded animal.
2. Missouri I'm trying to tell you.
Stop running laterally. The Tigers can get it going north and south. Schrader at times can get some outside zone going but just fall forward. He's really good at falling forward and getting two or three yards on bad runs.
3. Wasted possession.
First offensive possession of the second quarter was wasted. Mizzou started the drive on the MIZ 48.
4. Welcome Lincoln Kienholz.
Kienholz is a true freshman quarterback who has 19 snaps in two prior games. He replaces Devin Brown and proceeds to hand it off three times.
If Missouri can't get the offense going it's going to be a problem.
5. Punters having a good day, though.
Missouri's Riley Williams has 4 punts for 41 yards per punt and three of them landing inside the 20.
Ohio State's Jesse Mirco is averaging 54.2 yards per punt on 4 attempts. Three have gone 50 or more yards and one has landed inside the 20.
6. Brady Cook is missing Burden and the playcalling is starting to be suspect.
Luther is getting open in the flat or on short routes and Cook has looked the other way. He's either looking at the pass rush instantly get in his face or for someone else. Also, OSU is overloading the box and the outside zone with Schrader is running. Why pass on third and two after Schrader picked up another five yards on outside zone the play before?
7. Average starting field position.
Mizzou is averaging a start on its 29-yard line while OSU has started on its 18-yard line. Neither team is taking advantage of it.
8. Backbreaking penalty.
Third and 16 on its own 1-yard line. Buckeyes go for a QB sneak. The QB false starts and it's not called but Johnny Walker gets an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. He's had a handful of them this year. Just can't be boneheaded like that.
