The Missouri baseball team is forgoing Friday's freezing, snowy forecast in Columbia for balmy Jacksonville, Florida, where the Tigers will open their 2019 season on the road at North Florida. The first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Ospreys will begin a three-game set at Dusty Rhodes Field at Harmon Stadium, part of an eight-game Florida trip for Missouri.

North Florida went 28-28 in 2018 with a 10-11 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference, falling in the conference title game. The Ospreys went 0-3 in games against SEC opponents, losing at South Carolina and dropping both games of a home-and-home with top-ranked Florida.

The Ospreys, under second-year head coach Tim Parenton, were picked sixth in the preseason ASUN poll for 2019 and return two Preseason All-Conference selections. Junior Tanner Murphy hit 10 home runs last season for North Florida, while redshirt senior pitcher Brad Deppermann struck out 63 in a hybrid role in 2018.

Missouri went 5-3 in its eight-game, season-opening trip against Florida International, Miami and Northeastern last season.
