Missouri’s defense was extraordinary tonight. Two of three touchdowns they gave up were on blown coverages (the last one was by the third stringers, so I'm not really counting that). But the defensive line caused immense pressure and tipped two balls that led to interceptions. Ty’Ron Hopper looked like how he looked last season vs. Mizzou when he was with Florida.

Nate Peat has been dealing with a soft tissue injury ll of camp but he certainly looked like the best RB. He showed burst and looked spry all game. So, whatever injury he had seems to be a non-issue. Schrader wasn’t too bad either and was consistent (it should be his middle name by now). Young had a solid first half with three carries for 34 yards but he didn’t do much after that.

LB3 is electrifying but y’all knew that. Not only is he exciting but he can play and at times it seemed like he was playing with people he knew couldn’t contain him (see the five-yard touchdown run where he broke three tackles).

Brady Cook is solid. He played decently, to be honest, but Mizzou shouldn't be counting on Cook to win them games. He played the game manager role and made the right throws and reads most of the time but there also were times when he threw passes late, behind receivers, or just too hard (LB3 should've caught it but that pass had too much mustard on it). He is a good athlete though... much better than I anticipated.

Blake Baker called a near-perfect game. His aggressive scheme fits this personnel way better than the three-slot cornerback look from last season.

I noticed Ennis Rakestraw left with an injury around the second or third quarter but not sure what happened.

Hanging 50+ is good but context is key. It was vs. LA Tech and they did what they should do. The offense started a bit slow but scored 52 points despite not scoring in the first quarter. They also had two turnovers in the red zone and could've flirted with 70 points.

The defense is the MVP of this game to me.
