-Huge night for Noah Carter. He had 28 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and two steals. He had the team's best plus/minus at +26. He showed every reason why he was a commodity in the transfer portal.
-Somebody said it in the game thread, but Kobe Brown was a bit slow getting to his move when they fed him in the post. It's one thing to shoot more 3s than 2s (which Mizzou did, by the way -- they were three shy of tying the record for 3-point attempts), but it's another to actually let the defense wall up against you.
-Dennis Gates shortened the rotation when it mattered. Mo Diarra didn't play in the second half -- Kaleb Brown, DeAndre Gholston and Sean East played just four minutes each. None of them played particularly well, so it made sense. But it makes you wonder if Gates tipped his hand on who his top 8 are.
-Tre Gomillion had a really good second half -- 10 points, 4 reboudns, 2 assists and physical defense. You can tell he's been playing with D'Moi Hodge for a long time, they have a good connection. It's looking like it was a good idea for Gates to bring those guys over with him.
-The Tigers got crushed on the boards in the first half, but kept it even in the second. I wrote this in my stats piece earlier this week, bu it's gonna take a team effort every single night for a group sorely lacking in size. ESPECIALLY when Kobe Brown goes from grabbing 14 rebounds to grabbing zero.
-Mizzou hasn't dominated either team they've played so far but they have, at least, won both games. It's better than the alternative.
