1. Johnny Walker doesn't need to be in pass coverage
He's been having a solid game, but I've seen him get cooked in the flat and give up a first down on third and medium in the first quarter. I've seen him get beat on a wheel route, and then I've seen him just give up pass interference on the first drive of the second quarter.
Why didn't he fall on that fumble? He's not a linebacker or defensive back he just has to fall on the ball. Missouri would've got the ball inside the Memphis 15-yard line.
Let him stop the run and create a pass rush where he excels. That's just my opinion.
2. Dreyden Norwood
He's been playing in Rakestraw's place and he has two pass deflections on some tight coverage. I've been impressed with him.
3. Brady Cook's hot start
Cook is 11-of-12 to start the game for 213 yards and a touchdown. He's played a great game. His passer rating at the time I'm writing this (6:27 left in 2nd) is 289.7.
He's thrown a few dimes outside of the 76-yarder. I mean he's got a little zip to me on some of these passes.
All he needs to do is learn how to slide when he runs. He took a brutal shot after a 17-yard gain. He looked good on the run, so I didn't see too much of the sprain knee effects, but he better slide before something else starts hurting.
4. Jaylon Carlies replaces Norwood after injury
I see free safety Jaylon Carlies in at cornerback after Norwood left with a left leg injury it looks like. Ennis Rakestraw must have some type of disciplinary issue or something going on as to why he's not in. I don't know that. I'm just guessing. He's an All-SEC level corner in my opinion. There's got to be a reason.
