Recs for New Orleans hotels

I will be flying into New Orleans for the LSU game, and spending Friday and Saturday night there. A buddy of mine, and also a Mizzou grad, will be driving up to meet me. Will be splitting hotel cost, but I am looking for a nice hotel (but nothing too pricey) with lots of entertainment/bar life within walking distance. TIA
