Fans from the 14 schools in the best conference in America ... good food and refreshments at Chicken N Pickle ... and a visit from one of the best football players in Mizzou history. What a way to start the highly anticipated 2019 college football season for the Tiger Club of Kansas City!
The eighth annual SEC Block Party was held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Chicken N Pickle in North Kansas City. The event, hosted by the Tiger Club, kicks off the college football season, and is our way of bringing KC fans of each conference member together for a day of fun, games and friendly conversation about the approaching season.
As always, we raffled two tickets to each MIzzou home SEC game, plus tickets to the SEC conference championship. An auction also featured special memorabilia from many of the schools.
Former Mizzou tight end Chase Coffman stopped by with his family. As always, the consensus All-American had a good time with the fans talking about Mizzou and his NFL career, and he also took a moment to chat with the Club's Mark Fitzpatrick.
The Tiger Club meets each Tuesday of the academic year at Westport Flea Market Bar and Grill. Weekly lunches begin this year on Tuesday, August 27 with our annual visit from Director of Athletics Jim Sterk. Lunch begins at 11:30 am with the program beginning at noon with a phone call from a member of the football coaching staff from Columbia. Please see our website for further details.
