BASKETBALL SEC vs Big 12 question

Follow baskeball closely but never got into how the RPI and Kenpom numbers move. Currently USCe is playing a ranked Tech so I know a USCe win will help us. Basically my question is if the SEC cleans up today how much does that help us? And does it hurt our resume that bad if SEC does poorly? Or no real effect?
