I was not able to watch the game but checked the score and read PM. After reading....I expected to see one thing when I finally watched....but saw something completely different.
First...Mark Smith. I saw posts just ripping him. Amazing....after watching, I see Missouri no way wins that game without Mark Smith. He was really good on offense and defense the first half. He was really good on defense, rebounding, and passing in the second half. He did not have many opportunities offensively in the second half. He had one bad turnover and missed a free throw.......wow.....for some, that is grounds for never playing again?
From reading before watching....I thought Cuonzo must have really had a bad second half. But no....it was not about any strategy...it was just about the team just not being able to hit shots in the second half....and Alabama playing much better the last 5 minutes on both ends. Obviously...Alabama was desperate and had nothing to lose...and hit some tough 3's and just got on a run...that combination with Missouri cooling off and trying to use the shot clock..........and the game got too close.
I guess we can say Alabama's coach should have gotten his team more ready to play the first half. Must have told them to suck on offense the first half...after all...it is always the coach.
I am just grateful Cuonzo was a better first half coach than Oats was a second half coach..by 3 points.
All that matters.
