I remember reading this article back then thinking, “this is why he chose us?” Heres some quotes from CM’s family also. I went to Mizzou in the 80’s. Ive been fortunate to play ball with many great black athletes and great individuals in college and also after college in competitive slowpitch. According to this article makes you wonder why any black athlete would have continued to come to this school. But yet they did and many hung their hat in “racist” Columbia.
