From Husker board this morning…

Erickson visited Lincoln twice this summer, and he liked both experiences a lot. He was also supposed to take an official visit to Tennessee, but it doesn't look like he made it there.

"I am currently down to my final 2 of Nebraska and Mizzou," Erickson told me yesterday. "My decision is coming soon."

Looks young like justin britt. #6 ranked 5.7 3* in illlinois. Could be a player?
No Iowa, Northwestern or Wisconsin offers make me wonder. IL kids have had a wonky time of it because of the last 16 months, but I would be surprised if an OL from Chicago with his build slipped under the radar of all three. I'm reminded of the guy that ended up at Arkansas State, so is this an offer or an "offer"?

St. Rita is a massive school and plays high level football. Illinois high school football had a weird season this year in which they didn’t start until February and played a shortened season. Could be the reason nobody knows about him.

Edit: Sorry i confused my schools. St. Rita’s does not have a large enrollment but they do play high level 7A football against the big boys.

Is it safe to say since we don’t know a whole lot about this kid that he probably ends up a nub? I would love to land him just for the monumental meltdown that would take place at the fusker board.

Massive school? Their enrollment is under 600....

Lol sorry you are correct for some reason i was thinking of Stevenson for whatever reason who’s enrollment is above 4000. Sorry, slow morning over here. Rest remains true tho. They play 7A ball and Illinois didn’t start until February.

The Parkway High Schools have about 5500 students combined, and don’t produce anywhere near the number of SEC caliber recruits as DeSmet which is in the district and only has about 750 kids.

Would it be right to say that if we take this kid we're not getting Deone Walker?
Most likely. I think they’re planning on taking four OL in the 22 class. It’s always possible they could make room for Walker if he wanted to commit though

Jealousy is not a good color on you. His info is pertinent to the thread.
I am not and would not disparage God's Highschool (DeSmet). Simply hoping for a public vs private STL HS derail.

Great. St. Rita could be the greatest football school on the planet. I was merely surprised that someone called them massive. There are some truly massive schools in Chicago and Rita is not one of them. No big deal. @HandsTeam point, as he said, still remains.

Hell yeah let's start another STL high school debate
Good grief…..

Has nothing the F to do with that. I was merely pointing out that “massive” or “huge” school to get into for football doesn’t necessarily mean enrollment. If I lived in Memphis or Indianapolis I would have used the local examples there, but I live in STL where we recruit a ton of players from.

Please excuse the topical and applicable familiarity in the example that I used since the mere mention of STL high schools appears to throw some into a tizzy.

Over the years, it’s been a top-flite football factory. It’s a giant asset to have a connection there.
Produces lots of NBA, MLB and NFL players

Kenny Goliday is a recent example

No. Mizzou likes him. We’ve mentioned him in the Chamber before

*New 2022 offensive line target Valen Erickson has only taken one official visit so far this summer and that was to Nebraska. The Huskers currently set in his top spot, but it doesn't appear a commitment is coming anytime soon as it seems he's leaning toward taking more official visits during the fall. He picked up his Missouri offer during an unofficial visit earlier this month. He's also taken unofficials to Illinois, Cincinnati, and Tennessee.
