last week on one of @TJMoe 's podcasts his sidekick (sorry, forgot your name, no offense) mentioned that analytics dictate that Coach Odom go for it more on 4th down instead of punting or going for the FG. TJ of course disagreed...
But it would seem this was good advice and Coach may have "listened"... it appeared to me that the team went for it in situations where Coach Pinkel would have kicked, and where a conservative Odom would have done the same. We were 3-3 on fourth down. I am not sure if this is where we are going as a program, if this is a one off, or if I am all wet. But it was fun to see.
That said, I know we have had some concerns and questions about our new OC.... but DD called a good game. While the biggest tests are coming up at UGA and Alabama, it was impressive how the offense stayed calm, and bought into what was being called even though Purdue was really threatening to win. To me, it shows that the OC and his partners understand what this offense can do, and the capabilities of the parts involved... and that the players are bought into what they are calling.
@GabeD NOt sure what the questions would be, but I would love to hear more about both if possible
Good news.
