People compare players to coaches. Coaches are able to move year to year so why shouldn’t players be able to. The difference is there are buyouts involved with coaches that benefit the university from which the coach is leaving. There is no buyout for players. The way to possibly make them equal is to make scholarships two year agreements if eligibility is 2 or more years remaining for the player. Player’s can move after one year but it needs to be cleared through a waiver process. Waivers would be granted because of a family situation, primary position coach leaving or head coach leaving. Makes high school commitments more meaningful than they are now and keeps players from hunting NIL deals right away.
