The original post got too long, so I'm starting a new one. There's not a ton to it, I'm not linking it on the front page
I've got a lot of people saying that interviews have been taking place yesterday and today, probably bleeding into tomorrow. The problem is, nobody I trust is telling me at this point WHO has been interviewed. Either they don't know or they aren't telling me.
FlightAware is of no use because Sterk, if my information is correct, and I think it is, flew to Atlanta yesterday. There's absolutely no way to track anyone into Atlanta because there are a million flights. There was a plane that left the airport Sterk flew into yesterday to go to Boca Raton, sat for about an hour, and went back to the same airport. Could it have taken Lane Kiffin for an interview? Sure. Could it have been a group of retirees flying down to their beach house and send the plane back? Also, sure. There's no way to know. This is why interviews are done in places like Atlanta. Literally anybody could fly in there and there's no way to know unless you're there.
At this point, here's a list of guys I'm confident is at least being considered: Troy Calhoun, Jeff Monken, Lane Kiffin, Bryan Harsin, Willie Fritz, Blake Anderson, Skip Holtz, Jim McElwain.
To me, that's a list of Kiffin (have serious doubts due to Sexton connection), Harsin (some think he will stay at Boise until something opens in the PAC 12) and a bunch of guys that aren't an improvement over the guy you just fired.
Here are some guys that I've gotten some indication might be on the list, but I don't really have much to back it up: Eli Drinkwitz, Will Healy, Tony Elliott, Jeff Scott, Billy Napier (I don't think they can get him).
We all assumed Sterk went into this with a guy or a short list of guys he was very confident he can get. Maybe that's the case. No one I'm talking to now thinks that's the case. But no one I'm talking to is in the room with Sterk either.
