I was talking to an assistant coach at an event I went to a few months ago. He said that the play to Luther for the touchdown in the Cotton Bowl was generally something that was designed to be called from further out from the endzone. This guy was a little nervous when it was called because he knew the safety would be on it and it would be a tight window. It was a tight window all right! But it worked.
