Let's say he has to make a hire at the end of the year. I have to say I'm a little concerned about his past football hires at Washington State, with Bill Doba (an internal hire) and Paul Wulff. Granted, it's a tough place to win, but at a P5 school he whiffed on coaches. Rocky Long has done well at SDSU (also an internal hire), but again that's not at a P5 program.
I think Sterk has done solid work here at Mizzou and is clearly respected and a stand-up guy. But when it comes to getting an SEC guy, I have to admit I'm skeptical he can do it, with good reason.
